FAQ
How often is homework sent home?
Students will have weekly Reading, Math, and Spelling Homework that they will keep in their homework binder that should come with them to school every day. You will receive the week's reading log, reading and math packet on Monday and it will be due Friday. Your child will be required to read at least 20 minutes a night and record it on their reading log. Spelling homework will be done in a notebook following a weekly practice routine. All homework will be turned in on Friday. Students that don't complete their homework will miss out on Fun Friday. Their homework binder should be brought daily as it is in there they will keep their log ins, calendar, and other things that they will use daily. It's also a great place for them to stay organized and bring completed work home.
(Occasionally students will have homework during the weekend.)
Can I celebrate my child's birthday?
Please do not send sweets for your student's birthday as we are trying to keep healthy habits. If you would like to contribute something on their birthday, please consider sending a healthy snack for the entire class- contact me for number of students. Other options include non-edible treats like stickers, decorative pencils, small prizes, etc. You could also donate a book to our classroom library in honor of your student's birthday!
What should I send in with my child for snack?
Please send in a small, healthy snack each day if you are able. Please only send water to drink. If you are able, please help our other students by sending in a snack for the class to share. No peanuts or dairy please.
Examples: Goldfish crackers, Graham crackers, rice cakes, cheese nips, Ritz crackers, Fruit snacks, apples, bananas, Fruit cups, granola bars, cereal, or pretzels.
